Bringing innovation to agriculture
Led by Bridgit Hawkins, an agricultural business specialist with extensive commercial experience in the rural sector, ReGen Ltd is an innovative, privately owned New Zealand based company.
We were established in 2010 with the aim of creating world class, technology-based solutions for the agricultural sector, spearheaded by our flagship product - ReGen Effluent.
The ReGen Effluent system was developed by Wellington company Harmonic, with support from Dairy NZ, Massey University, Gen-i and the Ministry of Science and Innovation. Bridgit led the rural development programme at Harmonic and, in 2006, conceived a novel concept for effluent management on dairy farms stemming from the environmental monitoring work at Massey University.
The ReGen Effluent system was developed in conjunction with Massey University scientists and proved to have a range of benefits for the farm. These included the scheduling of effluent irrigation and quantifying the changes required to the farm’s effluent system to meet the best practice requirements for farm dairy effluent.
We launched ReGen Effluent in March 2010 following a successful nationwide farm trial where it was proven to prevent ponds from overflowing and over-irrigation of dairy effluent. It won the TUANZ Innovation Award in 2010 in the ‘Innovation in the Rural Market’ category and received a special commendation at the Hi-Tech Awards 2010.
